Marcella Liburd: Community-building events keep young people positively engaged
Thursday, 27th April 2017

A string of “senseless murders” of young people needs to be tackled by a united political front, the chairman of the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party has said.
Marcella Liburd has called for partisan matters to be put to one side as the federation tackles a spike in violent killings.
“It is time for us to come together as one and take a stand against this crime that is plaguing our beloved country,” she said.
“Whether in government or now in opposition, we in the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party will continue to speak out and take action against crime. We will not play the blame game with crime as some did.
“Instead we will continue to stay in our communities organising community events: sports, fun days, health fairs, math classes, camps and development of soft skills to name a few.”
WIC News has approached the government for a comment.
