Cayon Primary wins inaugural East Zone 1 Championship, Samal Duggins congratulates

St Kitts and Nevis: Minister of Sports Samal Duggins extended heartfelt congratulations to the Cayon Primary School for winning the title of champions in the First Federal East Zone 1 Championship. The team won a whopping 27 gold, 13 silver and 17 bronze medals. While extending his congratulations, Minister Duggins said, "Congratulations to Cayon Primary School! A big shout-out to all the talented athletes and their dedicated supporters."

The event was held on January 26 at St Mary's Park Cayon and saw several athletes from four schools of St Kitts competing for the title and the trophy of the inaugural Championship.

The Minister also congratulated Petrine Clarke, who is acknowledged for her longstanding contribution to athletics in the East Zone 1 school.

While asking the citizens to join him in congratulating the Cayon Primary, Duggins noted, "Let's continue to celebrate achievements while they happen!" During the Public Primary School Championships, several other schools participated and gave a tough competition. The second position was clinched by the Joshua Obadiah Williams School, which secured 9 gold, 9 silver and 10 bronze medals. Following them, Deane Glasford Primary School stood at the 3rd position with six gold, 17 silver and eight bronze medals.

The fourth position was claimed by the Violet Petty Primary School with one gold, five silver and two bronze medals. Furthermore he also congratulated all the participating schools for adding to the excitement and competition.

While expressing his gratitude to the sponsors, he noted, "This competition could not be made possible without the support of our sponsors, and so to First Federal, I also wish to thank you."

The Minister of Sports was also present at the event to honour the winners with medals and plaques. During the prize distribution ceremony, the Minister remarked, "The competition was full of excitement, and I wish to congratulate all the participants. Here's to future partnerships in fostering an environment that educates, develops and wins."
