Antigua and Barbuda: A 22-year-old has become the victim of a recent stabbing incident that occurred on Rowan Henry Street in St. John's, Antigua. The deceased has been identified as Jamal Ryner. According to the reports, the unfortunate incident has marked the second homicide of 2024 in Antigua and Barbuda. The police officials have reported that the incident took place on Tuesday night, during which Ryner, a resident of Yorks, was stabbed in the chest during a confrontation with a man from Villa. The incident took place around 10 pm. Following the incident, the police officials were called by the passersby on the street. The officials also called the medical professionals, who pronounced the victim dead on the scene. The reports also added that the suspect fled the crime scene on a bicycle and is presently being pursued by police officials. The officials have also launched an investigation into the incident to catch the suspect and find the real motive behind the brutal act. This incident has left the friends and family of the deceased in a horrible situation, and they are urging the police officials to bring him to justice. The first incident of the twin island nation was recorded on January 26, during which a taxi driver identified as Sherwin Findley was shot and killed while he was driving his taxi looking for passengers in Malick. Around 6:45 am, residents of Sixth Avenue, Barataria, heard a series of loud explosions and went to investigate. Upon their investigations, they observed Findley lying on the roadway, bleeding from gunshot wounds to the head, and an armed suspect running away from the scene. It is to be noted that Antigua and Barbuda has mostly remained murder free and reports the least murder incidents since the beginning of 2024 than the rest of the Caribbean region. This is because of the government's continuous efforts to curb crime in the twin island nation.
