Another unvaccinated COVID-19 positive dies in Antigua and Barbuda

Antigua and Barbuda on Friday recorded another coronavirus related death. As per reports, the patient was an elderly woman who died on October 1 October 2021, at around 3:39 pm.
Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC), in a statement, declared that the woman was unvaccinated and admitted to the hospital for several days. She also had underlying diseases, including respiratory issues.
She was admitted on September 7 2021 and had been at the hospital for over a month. Doctors said her lungs were permanently damaged due to the chronic disease. They noted that the patient had multiple comorbidities.
The elderly woman could have survived if she had been vaccinated against the coronavirus because the vaccine prevents severe virus-related deaths. The majority of the people of died of COVID-19 in Antigua and Barbuda are mainly unvaccinated, despite the government's vaccine drives.SLBMC encouraged all eligible people to get the COVID-19 vaccine doses and asked people to encourage their family members, friends to join them in getting inoculated.
Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC) sent out condolences to the family of the deceased and advised the general public to adhere to the coronavirus related health protocols. The media had been asked to respect the privacy of the patient's family.
Only a few days ago, two middle-aged women lost their battle to COVID-19 in SLBMC. The women were also unvaccianted against the coronavirus.Latest
