In celebration of Father’s Day, a small program was held in the Conference Room of the Guyana Fire Service on Friday afternoon at approximately 14:00 hrs.
The program included the distribution of several gifts which were awarded to the father with the most children, the father with the youngest child and the youngest father.Following the distribution of gifts, our fathers received well wishes from their colleagues and were treated to lunch. All of the activities planned and conducted were mainly to show appreciation for some of our hard-working fathers who were on duty at the time.
It is saddening that a private moment at the conclusion of the event was recorded and released on social media which brought discredit to the GFS.
The Guyana Fire Service said it is not condoning the content and behavior displayed in the video and an investigation has since been launched into the matter.
