Bangladesh: As Bangladeshi tabloid, Weekly Blitz’s editor-in-chief Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury continues to be hounded by the Caribbean island’s government and the national police, a former bureaucrat of India has said that the Indian Government and Bangladesh’s subsidiary vigilance agencies are keeping a strict watch on the activities of Choudhury related to international crime and sedition charges.

Choudhary is administrating the mental attack on the people of several nations across the world with false and inappropriate information, so there is a bright possibility of his relations with terror outfits operating in different parts of the world, said an internal government source of India, throwing light on what he feels had led to a vicious attack on the freedom of the press and its credibility.

It is a pertinent note here that earlier Weekly Blitz had claimed several derogatory statements about many sensitive issues containing classified information and persuading left-wing supporters towards violent paths, which had led to the convictions of the editor and ultimately, refusal to the Choudhury’s Citizenship application in the Caribbean for failing in due diligence procedure.

The former bureaucrat in conversation with WIC News said that Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury is under the radar of intelligence agencies of Bangladesh and India. “There are several reasons to arrest Choudhury for his misconduct in the field of journalism. The accused person is using this medium not only to smuggle information, but he is also persuading public against several dignified countries without a single piece of evidence.”

However, the official did not give his remarks on whether any international arrest warrant is issued against Choudhury by the Indian intelligence agencies. “As I am no longer an active part of our intelligence department, I cannot comment on the issuance of an arrest warrant against Choudhary under the Indian Penal Code.”

It is essential to mention that editor of Weekly Blitz has been convicted for more than 4 years due to his derogatory articles against countries, creed and cast. He was also arrested at the Dhakka airport when he was found carrying discs and papers containing information on sensitive issues including minority repression and the spreading network of al-Qaeda in Bangladesh on November 29, 2003.
