Story of Allister J.D Amada, for Grenadian Admitted to Columbia College, Chicago

Allister J.D Amada recently graduated from T. A. Marryshow Community College and for the last six years fully dedicated his life to the performing and creative arts, which has incredibly transformed his life.

This intriguing journey began at Grenada Acting and Film School (GAaFS) under the leadership and mentorship of Roger “Frenchy” Williams. During his time there, he found his purpose and vision for his life.

In wanting more out of the arts, he left acting school to pursue his studies at the T.A. Marryshow Community College (TAMCC). There, he enrolled in the General Studies program at the School of Arts Sciences and Professional Studies (SASPS) where he studied both Literature and Psychology.

During his first semester, he had his first encounter with Columbia College Chicago at a college fair. This sparked a fire within him. So in 2018, he started planning and pushing toward attending this renowned and creative institution.

This fire led him into national and international spaces/arenas, such as his participation in TAMCC’s best talent competition, Ministry of Youth TAII Speech Festival, Performing the World, and most recently the I am Grenada spoken word competition. Moreover, in 2020 he founded team lyrical and has written over 100 poems.

After attaining his Associate's Degree, He applied to CCC and has been admitted to that college, thus being the first Grenadian to attend this institution. He has already obtained a quarter of a scholarship that covers tuition from this international institution and has started the process with the government for housing and tuition funding.

However, Allister still needs money m to embark on his new journey at the college. He would greatly appreciate any financial assistance that can be rendered by any individual or public or private entity. Further arrangements can be made with Allister; He can be contacted on his telephone number +1(473) 414-7032 or his email address at allisteramada19@gmail.com.
