US: After being banned on Twitter and Facebook for inciting the Capitol riot, Donald Trump is reportedly working on his own social media platform.

He has also launched a new website that offers a very selective history of his single tenure and offers the opportunity to discuss performances or personal greetings.

But Trump has said he may not need his new platform because the short, often tweet-long statements he now sends in journalists' inboxes from Mar-a-Lago in Florida communicate his views as effectively as any tweet ever could.

On Sunday, the former president appeared to be testing the theory by mimicking world leaders, including Pope Francis, if they did not repeat their sense of dignity and a call for peace on a major religious holiday by a statement to be announced in celebration of Easter Sunday.

"Happy Easter to EVERYONE," Trump said, "including the Radical Left CRAZY who have plagued our presidential election and want to destroy our country!"

The presidential election was not rigged, but Trump often repeats a lie that is repeatedly thrown out of court. Joe Biden beat him by more than 7 million votes and by 306-232 in the Electoral College.

But for Trump supporters, the statement may have shown a cruel echo of what made them happier times, when he regularly tweeted diplomatic communications such as: "Sorry losers and haters, but my IQ is one of the highest - and you all know this! Please do not feel so stupid or insecure, it is not your fault."

Telling that Trump's Easter statement does not take into account the kind of explosions in the news media that his tweets once did. Instead of pushing the deadline for the deadline and the front page headlines, it seemed to be causing some kind of soft ennui.

"Jesus could not have said it better," wrote Ken Vogel of the New York Times.

Author Robert Schlesinger asked: “What is the phrase my religious friends use when in doubt? What would Jesus thank? ”

David Frum, once a speechwriter for George W Bush, now a leading Trump critic on the American right, called it a "Easter Sunday of resentment and anger" message.

'It's a lasting good joke,' he added, 'that Donald Trump has no understanding of the Christian faith - and that if he ever understood it, he would 100% oppose and reject it.

A few hours later, Trump tried again. This time, his statement simply said, "Happy Easter!"
