Belize: Jasmine Hartin, partner of British billionaire's Son, charged after officer shot dead
The local partner of the son of British billionaire Lord Michael Ashcroft has been arrested and charged with the shooting and causing the death of a police officer in Belize.

The Belize Police Department's Department of Public Relations issued a statement on Friday that Henry Jemmott, the police superintendent, had died.
Police Commissioner Chester Williams told Channel 7 on Friday that "Mrs Jasmine Ashcroft 'has been arrested and is being investigated for Jemmott's death. Williams said the two are known to be friends and that we understand that they are drinking.In an information session Friday, Williams said Jemmott's body was found in the water of a pier in San Pedro with an obvious gunshot wound behind his ear. A woman was found on the pier with blood on her arms and clothes, he stated.
Andrew Ashcroft is a well-known developer in Belize. He started the Alaia Belize Autograph Collection Hotel in May 2021. In a news conference at which the hotel opened, he referred to Jasmine Hartin as his wife, and she was standing next to him, but it is unclear if they were married.Latest
