31 migrants drown in English Channel after boat overturned

Around 31 immigrants drowned while they were going to Britain from France on a boat in the English Channel.

According to the information received, all of them were crossing the English Channel when their boat capsized. The French Interior Minister has called it the biggest tragedy of the migrants.

After this accident, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has called an emergency meeting. Police, ambulance and other emergency services have reached Kailas Port as soon as the accident is received.

He also talked to the French President Emmanuel Macros, requesting him to stop the immigrants from passing the Channel.

At the same time, Home Minister Gerald Darmanin says that it is believed that 34 people were on the boat, out of which 31 bodies have been found, and two people have been found alive. One person is still missing. By Wednesday evening, joint French and British rescuers were searching for survivors.

The French Interior Minister said that four suspected human traffickers were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the incident. It has not been told which country the passengers were citizens of.

According to fishermen, the number of refugees going to Britain to take advantage of the calm seas was higher than normal. However, the water is quite cold. When a fisherman saw the empty boat floating in the water, and some people were seen near it, all of them were swimming, but their bodies were completely inactive.
