Dominica: Hunting season officially open for licensed individuals
The authorities in Dominica declared that the Hunting season is now officially open in Dominica from October 1 2021 to November 30, 2021.

Roseau, Dominica: The Forestry, Wildlife and Parks Division of the Ministry of Environment, Rural Modernisation and Kalinago Upliftment declared that the Hunting season is now officially open in Dominica from October 1 2021 to November 30, 2021. Only licensed hunters can hunt Crabs (all members of the Gercarcinidae family), Agouti and Manicou (Opossum) in Dominica. The hunting of several other animals, including the mountain chicken, all birds and Iguanas, is banned.The ministry stated sale and possible limited export of wildlife or parts would be allowed from November 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021. At the same time, any person who is found selling and exporting wildlife after the dates will be prosecuted by law.Authorities reminded the public that even though hunting is permitted for few months, but it is still illegal to hunt or fish in freshwater streams without a valid licence. Following the current COVID-19 related outbreak in Dominica, all hunting parties can operate only with four licenced individuals. Any hunting groups who are found operating with more than four people could be charged under the various laws. The hunting licence can be obtained from the Forestry & Wildlife Division on the Windsor Park link road and at the Sub-Treasuries in Portsmouth and Marigot from October 4, 2021, onwards.
