Dominica government to handover 12 housing units in Lilly Valley

Minister of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment Dominica Dr Irving McIntyre visited his Roseau Valley constituency and stated that a new housing program would continue in the area. Minister stated that the government is also planning to hand over of twelve housing units in Lilly Valley (Trafalgar) within the next few months. He also visited the Padu area with personnel from MMCE and the Ministry of Housing Dominica, "We identified and discussed the New Housing program for the Village of Trafalgar," Dr Irving McIntyre stated that housing units in Morne Prosper with funds accessed from the World Bank by the Government of Dominica are also on the way. "We're moving forward in the Valley, and on behalf of the Roseau Valley Constituents, we extend our deepest thanks to our Prime Minister and the Government of Dominica for your unwavering support," said Dr McIntyre. Besides this, Minister also visited the Trafalgar Resource Centre on Thursday. He said the tour was again another pleasurable experience in the Valley. He stated that school students were busy with online classes guided by mentors at the Trafalgar Resource Centre. "Together with representatives from Caribbean Digital Transformation Project, we identified space for setting up a learning lab to accommodate at least 20 students," said the Minister. He stated that the Caribbean Digital Transformation Project's development objective is to increase access to digital services, technologies and skills by businesses and individuals in Dominica. "It aims to ensure that every individual and business within Dominica is empowered with access to broadband, digital financial services, and the skills needed to participate in an increasingly digital marketplace and society actively," said Dr McIntyre. He stated that the components of the project are digital skills and technology adoption. Minister said that to ensure that all citizens have the skills needed, the project will be setting up innovation learning labs in various communities in Dominica. Furthermore, the Minister stated that the training the project will support internship or apprenticeship programs to facilitate job placements of participants of the digital skills programs, including providing internship stipends for participants. Besides this, Minister McIntyre also visited the Trafalgar Primary school as the country prepares for the resumption of face to face classes. He also had an informative engagement with Principle Beverly Andrew and teacher Warner.
