Roseau, Dominica: As the number of coronavirus cases increases, the government of Dominica expanded its vaccine and covid testing programmes islandwide. The authorities are aiming at vaccinating and diagnosing more people in order to understand the real situation. Minister of health wellness and new health investment Dr Irving McIntyre recently declared that the country has enough doses to immunize the public. The health officials are also vigorously testing people for coronavirus across the country. As of Thursday, September 2, 2021 coronavirus, testing will be done at seven different locations.Dominica is also planning the roll-out of Pfizer vaccine for children over the age of 12. The ministry of health and wellness have advised people facing flu-like symptoms to remain home. Authorities said such persons must call on the COVID-19 hotline numbers, and teams will reach out to them for testing. The hotline numbers are 448-2151, 448-2156, 448-2153.
Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit continue to ask the public to get vaccinated. Recently he said,"The key to recovery is in our hands. We must get vaccinated, practice the health and safety protocols and help this country build resistance to COVID-19."
