A little slice of the Caribbean has popped up in Britain after the twin-island’s tourism authority partnered with an exclusive bar in London.
The Antigua and Barbuda Beach Shack at Archer Street is a joint effort from the UK office of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority and Archer Street, a vibrant cocktail lounge in the city’s West End.
The aim of the watering hole is to transport guests over to the laid-back glamour of the Caribbean islands – think picture-perfect beaches, sublime sunsets and warm welcome.
The initiative is a continuation of Antigua’s Beach Bar Trail campaign which launched at the end of 2016.
The trail has been designed to show visitors some of the best spots across its 365 sun-soaked beaches – from foodie gems to romantic hotspots, party bars to hidden hangouts that only the locals know about.
Cherrie Osborne, director of tourism UK and Europe for the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, said: “We are delighted to be working with one of London’s top venues, Archer Street, on this exciting collaboration. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the music, food & drink and spirit of our beautiful twin islands to consumers in the very heart of London.
“We are looking forward to a fantastic summer and to inspiring visitors to the beach shack to come and experience Antigua for real later in the year.”

Rum and sand
Archer Street, in Soho, is known for its inventive cocktails and staff who entertain drinkers with live singing performances throughout the evening.
The pop-up boozer has been created in the style of a typical Antigua beach bar, stunning Caribbean visuals, Antiguan snacks and real white sand for guests to sink their feet into.
Colourful cocktails named after Antigua’s beaches will be mixed with English Harbour rum and Antigua fruits.
Rum and Calypso-themed live entertainment and music acts during the evenings will showcase authentic Antiguan style.
The Antigua and Barbuda Beach Shack at Archer Street will be open until the autumn, with a series of special to be announced throughout the summer.
