T&T: SEA exam postponed, now to be held on July 1, 2021
: The Ministry of Education of Trinidad and Tobago has announced the postponement of the Secondary Entrance Assessment Exam (SEA) from June 10, 2021, to July 1, 2021.

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: The Ministry of Education of Trinidad and Tobago has announced the postponement of the Secondary Entrance Assessment Exam (SEA) from June 10, 2021, to July 1, 2021.
The exam has been shifted 20 days ahead of its scheduled date due to the rising coronavirus cases in Trinidad and Tobago.
Minister of Education Nyan Gadsby-Dolly stated that as the exam will now be held on July 1, 2021, the results are expected to come in the second week of September. The placement of students can be facilitated in secondary schools in the third week of September.
The Education Minister added that it was important to postpone the exam due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the more challenges posed by the Health regulations.
Furthermore, she stated that the education ministry is making all the necessary preparations for conducting the SEA exams with safety protocols. She noted that the exams are not more important than the general public's well-being.
Minister stated that people had raised concerns on the safety of face to face interactions of students; she asserted that the process would be monitored and new guidelines could be issued before the examination.
Nevertheless, Nyan Gadsby-Dolly stated that the government of Trinidad and Tobago have show concerns to the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) regarding the CSEC and CAPE examinations.
