Meanwhile, a westward moving tropical wave located in the central Tropical Atlantic is expected to approach the area by Sunday.
Slight to moderate seas are expected during the next 24 to 48 hours, with waves peaking near 5 feet, said the organisation.
The high pressures "is expected to result in a relative improvement in conditions during the next 24 hours," they said.
"However, patches of low level clouds moving westward will produce occasional cloudiness and a few scattered showers across parts of the island mainly during the morning period."
For Dominica, "a greater degree of cloudiness, more frequent rainfall and higher rainfall amounts are normally experienced across the east coast and interior," the organisation said.
