A renowned recording artist from Trinidad and Tobago, Kman-6ixx, was charged with being a gang member. The musician came to the limelight after he was subsequently banned from performing at the upcoming concert "OBSESSED—All Black Affair," which he was due to headline in St Kitts and Nevis.

On Monday, he was granted $40,000 bail with a surety as he appeared at the North High Court after being charged with gang-related offences under the Anti-Gang Act 4 of 2021. According to the information, the Trinidadian artiste was banned from entering St Kitts and Nevis after being flagged by the police officials as 'security risk'.

The promoter of Kman-6ixx, Study It Ent, said that they consulted with St Kitts and Nevis police officials and were then alerted about the security risk against Kman-6ixx.

Following this, the artist was not allowed to enter into the federation, which subsequently arrested the officials in Trinidad to initiative investigation.

The officials said that the extensive investigation was due to the videos posted on social media by the artist Kman 6ixx. The enquiry also spanned from March 2023 to the present and focused on the singer's activities in which he observed singing and using wrong gestures in videos which showed violence and promoted the Sixx gang.

The gang is one of the criminal organisations responsible for numerous of the gun-related murders that occur in Trinidad and Tobago.

On Friday, the officials, in collaboration with various units, conducted a targeted operation at Clifton Lane, St Paul Street, Port-of-Spain area. The officers executed a warrant at Kashif Sankar's residence, which led to Kman-6ixx's arrest along with two women for the possession of ammunition.

Kman-6ixx, who performed TriniBad music, is known as a controversial figure because of his lyrics and affiliation with the 6ixx Gang.

The Trinidad police officials said that the recent incident was when he was ambushed by gunmen from a rival gang, leading to a disturbance at the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in St Augustine, Trinidad.

After this incident, the US Embassy in Port of Spain urged Americans to be vigilant.

"Because of recent increased gang activity in St Augustine, US citizens are urged to exercise extreme caution in the St Augustine areas of Trincity Mall, Trincity, Grand Bazaar, and Valsayn areas into the new year," the embassy said.
