Trinidad & Tobago: No appointment required for drive-through vaccination

Trinidad and Tobago: The Health Ministry of Trinidad and Tobago in a press release statement, has informed the citizens that there would be no appointment necessary to access the COVID-19 vaccines at every drive-through vaccination facility around the island country from today onwards. The decision was taken by the government of Trinidad and Tobago in order to boost the COVID-19 vaccination and to achieve herd immunity. The Ministry of Health has proclaimed this as a national strategy to counter the negative impact of Delta variant of the deadly COVID-19 mutant. World Health Organisations' - WHO-approved Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines are being administered on Trinidad and Tobago Caribbean island. Following is the schedule for the citizens to access their jabs of novel coronavirus vaccines - (MASS VACCINATION SITES)- 

• National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA) - Wednesday to Sunday, from 9 am - 6 pm. 
• Paddock, Queen's Park Savannah - Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 3 pm. 
• Sangre Grande Civic Centre - Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 3 pm. 
• NCIC Divali Nagar Site - Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm. 
• Mayaro Sports Facility - Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 3 pm. 
• PowerGen Penal Power Station - Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 3 pm. 
• Southern Academy for the Performing Arts (SAPA), from 8 am to 3 pm. 

For (DRIVE-THROUGH SITES)-  

• Frankie Boodram Wallerfield International Raceway - Monday to Sunday, from 8 am to 5 pm. 
• Heliport, Chaguaramas - Monday to Sunday, from 8 am to 5 pm. 
• Ato Boldon Stadium - Monday to Sunday, from 8 am to 5 pm. 

The Health Ministry of T&T has noted that this initiative by the government would help them to increase the reach of COVID-19 vaccines among its citizens. With this, the Ministry has also encouraged the residents to take their shots of the vaccines in order to fight and defeat the deadly COVID-19 mutant. The Caribbean island has reported 233 new infections of the COVID-19 vaccines on 29 July 2021, taking the total number of active coronavirus cases to 5,849. Till 29 July 2021, the island country has reported a total of 1057 deaths because of the contagious virus. As of 29 July 2021, there are around 31,341 patients who have been recovered from the deadly virus, while 311 patients are still in the hospital facility.
