Tourism minister expresses sorrow after Jamaica blast
Explosion rocked Hotel RIU in Montego Bay, killing one and injuring four

Jamaica's minister of tourism has told reporters he is "deeply saddened" after an explosion killed a worker at a Montego Bay resort.
The blast, which WIC News understands occurred in Hotel Riu Reggae's boiler room, happened on Thursday evening.Sederhori McIntosh, the resort's maintenance manager, has been named locally as the deceased.
Four other members of staff were injured, and more than 100 guests were evacuated.They were taken to hospital where McIntosh was pronounced dead. Two of the injured employees are in a critical condition
The hotel is known to be popular with British holidaymakers.
Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett said: “I am deeply saddened about the unfortunate accident that occurred at the Hotel RIU Reggae, which resulted in several injuries and the loss of a life.

"The Ministry of Tourism will continue to monitor the situation and will be working closely with the hotel to ensure that the grieving families receive the necessary support during this difficult time."
