St Lucia witnesses a big relief, as the Ministry of Health and Wellness reports no new cases of COVID-19 from a batch of 128 samples taken during the period June 29, 2021, to July 4, 2021. These samples were processed on July 4, 2021.

St Lucia: St Lucia witnesses a big relief, as the Ministry of Health and Wellness reports no new cases of COVID-19 from a batch of 128 samples taken during the period June 29, 2021, to July 4, 2021. These samples were processed on July 4, 2021. Also, The Ministry of Health also received confirmation of the recovery of 12 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19. This brings the total number of active cases currently recorded in the country to date to 83. Presently, three of the active cases are requiring critical care at the Respiratory Hospital. The total number of COVID-19 cases diagnosed in the country to date is 5326. Additionally, As of July 1, 2021, a total of 30, 989 individuals have received the first dose of the vaccine and 22, 103 individuals have received the second dose of the vaccine. Today Monday, July 5, 2021, the health team will be administering the COVID-19 vaccine at the Vigie Sports Complex and the Soufriere Hospital Grounds. This COVID-19 vaccination drive will cater to the general population (18 years and older) for the first dose of the COVID vaccine as well as individuals receiving the second dose of the vaccine. Notably, The Ministry of Health reiterates the importance of people adopting behaviours and practising the infection prevention and control measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19: - Wash the hands frequently using soap also flowing water - Wear a mask in public places and assure it covers the mouth, chin and nose - Maintain a physical distance from others - Use a bleach solution to sanitize frequently touched surfaces and frequently handled objects - Also, avoid contact with other people who have flu-like symptoms - If anyone experiencing flu-like symptoms, keep away from others and seek medical care Health Ministry further noted, "For more important information, please contact the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) or the Epidemiology Unit, at 468-5309/468-5317 respectively. "
