St Lucia roads claim another victim

Police in St Lucia are investigating following a motorcycle crash in Vieux Fort that left a 25-year-old man dead.

Emeron Jn Marie, a resident of Beanfield, was riding along the promenade, adjacent to the Phillip Marcellin Grounds, at around 5.30pm on Monday when the incident occurred.

Police have confirmed that another vehicle was involved in the collision but have not released any other details.

“Shem”, as Marie was known, sustained serious injuries during the crash and was taking by ambulance to the St Jude Hospital.

He died soon after, and a post mortem will be scheduled in the near future.

Marie’s death is the 14th road death on the island during 2017.
