St Lucia Phase 1B vaccination to start from today onwards in 9 centres

Prime Minister of St Lucia sent his gratitude to the government of India for aiding the country with 25,000 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. St Lucia will also be donating 5,000 vaccine doses from this batch, Grenada.St Lucian Prime Minister Allen Chastanet stated that the vaccine arrival would significantly strengthen the country's COVID-19 Vaccination process, which officially commenced just about two weeks ago.Currently, the country is focusing on immunizing its front-line workers, and Allen Chastanet stated that this week would continue to inoculate the warriors of the country. Besides this, phase 1B of vaccination in St Lucia is also commencing, and people who are 65 years and older, residents of elderly homes, and people living with chronic health conditions will be vaccinated. PM Allen Chastanet noted that phase 1A and phase 1B would be taking place at the same time.Furthermore, he added that the vaccination would be continued to the thousands of Saint Lucians who have registered for the COVID-19 vaccine.He advised people to follow the vaccine-related announcements of the ministry of health to gain awareness regarding the schedules of these other phases in preparation for their commencement.Prime Minister stated that all vaccination sites had been identified across the island. The schedule for Phase 1B immunizing is beginning from Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021, at Richfond Human Resource Development Centre.Other Vaccine Centres and their dates

This phase 1B is suspected to last about eight weeks, and the campaign is claimed to smoothly transition into its third phase, vaccinating the rest of the population.People who have chosen to receive the COVID-19 vaccine are prompted to register via the online platform at www.hmi.govt.lc or call nearest Community Wellness Center.
