In a commitment to the health and well-being of citizens and residents the Ministry of Health in St Kitts and Nevis is actively addressing areas for improvement in the healthcare system. Understanding the the necessity of continuous enhancement, particularly in diagnostic services, significant strides are being made to bolster the capabilities of the radiology department.

Expanded Radiology Department: Proudly announcing a historic milestone, the JNF Hospital now boasts the highest number of Radiographers ever employed, totaling seven certified individuals. Additionally, two consultant radiologists have joined the dedicated team. This expansion aims to elevate the precision and speed of diagnoses, ensuring optimal patient care. International Collaboration: In a forward-looking initiative, the Ministry of Health is on the brink of a collaboration with the esteemed Universitatsklinikum Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH) from Germany. This partnership seeks to infuse global expertise into the local healthcare system, providing continuous world-class training for medical practitioners and radiographers, especially in radiological matters. Advanced Equipment: A new fluoroscopy machine installation is underway at J.N.F., accompanied by staff training to elevate our capacity for comprehensive radiology services. Furthermore, plans are in motion for the acquisition and deployment of MRI and CT scan machines in the coming months, promising a significant leap in diagnostic capabilities.

The Health Ministry further added that it is actively undertaking thorough analyses of diagnostic and treatment protocols, as well as evaluating current equipment and staffing levels. This commitment reflects the Ministry's dedication to fostering transparency and accountability within the healthcare system.

Encouraging open dialogue with the community, the Ministry of Health added that it values the experiences shared by residents of St Kitts and Nevis. Suggestion boxes, strategically placed at JNF and other healthcare facilities, welcome concerns or questions, ensuring the administration remains informed and responsive to the needs of the nation.
