St Kitts and Nevis: A 15-year-old male was shot down in Sandy Point Town on Monday (January 15) at around 10 PM. The victim got the injuries on the back and was immediately taken to Pogson Hospital by the locals.
However, due to critical injuries and no improvement in his condition, he was then shifted to the Joseph N France Hospital (JNF) for specialised care.
The authorities have launched a major investigation over the matter. The officials have been taking stringent actions. They are thoroughly investigating, and are trying to gather more information.
Meanwhile, in an initial ongoing investigation by the authorities, it has been reported that the 15-year-old teenager was shot down by the perpetrator carrying a licensed firearm. The Perpetrator opened fire at the victim, which struck him on his back.
While no further revelations have been made, the case has become a matter of concern for the public. The officials have encouraged the communities to serve and cooperate to find the culprit and other related evidence. This incident has marked another crime added to the list of St Kitts and Nevis within first 18 days of 2024.
This is to be noted that a few days later, on January 13, 2024, the island also marked the 1st Homicide in the nation. A man was shot and killed at Nursery #2, Four Roads, St. Philip, around 11:05 AM.
Further, a similar incident also came to light when a 46-year-old man, identified as Mandero France, sustained wounds in one of his legs when two assailants opened fire in his direction. The incident occurred on January 10, 2024, between 8:30 and 9:30 PM at Nevis Street, St Kitts and Nevis.
The victim is still in critical condition, and the authorities are still investigating the case. On encountering the incident, the victim was taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital, where he was treated and warded in stable condition.
The Community members have expressed concern and presented their thoughts and opinions via the social media handle. People were seen as dismayed and extended power to their loved ones.
"15 years old, what about his parents? Lord have mercy," a user added.
"About time these teeth get punished," another user mentioned.
