SKN COVID Update: 46 active cases, 59.8 % population is fully vaccinated

Saint Kitts and Nevis: The Caribbean island of St Kitts and Nevis has recorded new 4 infection cases of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours. With the arrival of these recent cases, the total number of active cases in the island country rises to 46 as of 30 July 2021.

The data was shared by St Kitts and Nevis Ministry of Health in the COVID-19 situation report, which further states that till 30 July 2021, a total of 593 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported, out of which in total, 544 patients have recovered from the contagious virus.

As of 30 July 2021, the island nation has reported three deaths due to the deadly virus.

As per the Health Ministry's report, out of the confirmed COVID-19 cases, a total of 573 infections have been reported on St Kitts, while around twenty COVID-19 cases have been reported in Nevis.

Out of all the COVID-19 tests conducted as of 30 July 2021 in the island country, 25,446 individuals tested negative for the deadly virus.

As per the vaccination data, till 30 July 2021, a total of 59.8 per cent (19,764) of the SKN population has received their second jab of the COVID-19 vaccine and are now fully vaccinated against the deadly virus, whereas 72.2 per cent of the population has received their first shot of the novel coronavirus vaccine.

The Caribbean island is heading towards its aim to achieve herd immunity.

The Ministry of Health has informed that a total of 43,628 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered on the island country, out of which 33,537 doses were administered on St Kitts and 10,090 COVID-19 doses are administered in Nevis.

Worldwide, there are a total of 196,553,009 confirmed infections of the novel coronavirus, while in total, 178,800,901 patients have been recovered from the contagious COVID-19 mutant. So far, 4,200,412 deaths have been reported globally amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
