Search underway for missing fisherman
Male believed to be in the Gulf of Paria near Orange Valley

Coastguard officers and fishermen are searching for a 25-year-old fisherman who went missing at sea on Wednesday near Orange Valley.
According to local reports, the man has only been identified by his nickname 'Rampy'.
A spokesman for the Trinidad and Tobago Coastguard told WIC News: “We received a report around 8.30pm [on Wednesday] that there was a person in the water in the Orange Valley area. Officers went out and did an initial search but came back with negative sightings."They went back out this morning and had the same result. The search will continue”.
The man had gone overboard sometime in the afternoon, she added.
Shaffie Mohammed, President of the Orange Valley Fishing Association, said: “I was told that Rampy went out to sea on a flat bottomed boat to offload a trawler. And during that process he fell overboard and could not be found”.
Freeport Police Station have also been made aware of the situation.
