Police probe armed robbery in Basseterre, St Kitts
Hair salon on Durant Avenue targeted
Police officers in St Kitts and Nevis are investigating an armed robbery in the capital that left three people shaken.
A hair salon on Durant Avenue, Basseterre, was targeted just before 11.30pm on Friday night.
A masked man threatened hairdresser Rosa Foe at gunpoint then took her pink purse and an undisclosed sum of money.
Two others – Ruben Ozana and Andrew Pane – were also in the salon when the robbery occured.
The suspect took several identification documents from Ozana, while Pane suffered injuries to his face when struck by the intruder.
"The Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force would like to assure the public that foot and mobile patrols are continuing and will be increased during the season," a statement from the police said.
"The police also take this opportunity to encourage persons with information related to this incident, or any others, to contact the Basseterre police station at 465-2241 or their nearest police station."
