Police in Antigua charge Nut Grove family over gun find
Officers also discovered ammunition
Four people have been charged by police in Antigua after officers found an unlicensed gun and ammunition at the home.
The discovery was made at the Nut Grove, St John, property on Saturday. The operation was conducted by officers from the criminal investigations department, narcotics, dog and rapid response units.
Richard Joseph Tweed, 41, Kyle Francia, 24, Malcolm Tweed, 49, and 23-year-old Melissa Ferrance appeared before court yesterday.
All four have been charged with the illegal possession of a 9mm pistol and one round of 9mm ammunition.
They were remanded to St John’s police station.
During the Saturday search, officers also found two bulletproof vests, camouflage clothing, electronic devices, money and clothing with “POLICE” printed across it.
A statement from the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda said that “further investigations are currently ongoing into the matter.”
