The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis offered congratulations and good wishes to the people of the United States of America with the passing of 4th July, America’s national Independence Day. The Honourable Dr. Timothy Harris took the chance to further praise the diversity of the American people and restate the Government’s commitment to foreign collaboration.

Speaking on Wednesday 3rd, Dr. Harris wished “America’s diverse people, including our fellow nations who live there […] a prosperous future for all of their sons and daughters,” and celebrated Alexander Hamilton, “one of the most preeminent” of the Founding Fathers, who was born in Charlestown, Nevis. Amercia marked the occasion with, amongst other celebrations, almost 110 naturalisation ceremonies held by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services, something Dr. Harris noted as apt, given Hamilton’s emmigration from St Kitts and Nevis to America.

The Prime Minister further extended his diplomatic support to the larger country, adding “I take the opportunity to reiterate our commitment to continue working with your government in championing the deeply entrenched values of democracy, individual freedom, justice and respect for the rights of all people that make us more alike than different.”
