St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew held a significant meeting with the Commissioner of Police James Sutton. The meeting aimed at discussing the current security landscape and strategic responses to the crime situation in St. Kitts and Nevis.
PM Drew held the meeting immediately after returning from his recent overseas engagement on Tuesday. He said that the government is committed to maintain national safety and enhance responses to criminal activities in the Federation.
The meeting was also joined by the Attorney General Garth Wilkin and the Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Security, Glenroy Blanchette. According to the information, the high level discussions strived on evaluating the recent updates and boosting the strategic measures required to combat crime efficiently across the country.
During the meeting, Dr. Drew said that upon his return, it was necessary to immediately assess the national security situation. He added that his discussions with the relevant security bodies have reinforces their resolve to execute strong and dynamic strategies to address the present challenges head-on.
He further noted that the safety and security of the citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis remains the top priority of the administration and his team is committed to ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for everyone.
In addition to this, the meeting highlighted the ongoing and upcoming initiatives aimed at solidifying the capabilities of law enforcement agencies and enhancing the overall criminal justice system. PM Drew stated that such initiatives are part of a wider effort to provide the resources and support necessary for the effective enforcement law and order.
He further highlighted that the government continues to seek the cooperation and support of the public as it aims to create safer communities through enhanced policies and the dedicated efforts of the national security forces.
The continuous efforts of the prime minister to enhance the security forces on the island have been lauded by the citizens as they are saying that the country is blessed to have a leader like him who not only focuses on maintaining international relations but also aims to protect the citizens from criminal activity.
