Pizza Hut permanently shuts down all 3 outlets in Nassau
The closure of all branches in Prince Charles, Carmichael, and Saunders Beach took effect on January 14, 2024, and was officially announced on Pizza Hut Bahamas' social media on Monday morning.

In an unexpected turn of events, the American multinational restaurant chain Pizza Hut has shut down all of its three outlets in Nassau, Bahamas. The reason behind this closure has not yet been disclosed by the multi-national food giant.
The closure of all branches in Prince Charles, Carmichael, and Saunders Beach took effect on January 14, 2024, and was officially announced on Pizza Hut Bahamas' social media on Monday morning.
"We've made the difficult business decision to cease operations of our three Pizza Hut Nassau restaurants as of January 14, 2024. We will miss serving you and the community. Thank you for your years of patronage."
The franchise is operated by the Myers Group who have not yet commented about the abrupt closure of all three branches.

Over 45 people were employed at all these locations and were shocked by this sudden news. Labour Director of the Myers Group Howard Thompson said that 39 employees who decided to remain with the Myers Group will be deployed to other restaurants operated by the group at equal or higher salaries.
Reportedly, this move has come as an utter shock to the restaurant staff as well as the citizens of the Bahamas who were regular customers of the food branch.
As per the reports, an employee of Pizza Hut also confirmed the development and outlined, "Yes, we are closing down all three locations in Nassau. It is quite a shock, but god will sort it all out."
The Myers Group was established in 1992 by hotelier and businessman George Myers. It is to be noted that Myers died last year in February 2023.
The group operated several other franchises in the Bahamas, including Burger King, Dunkin' Donuts and Kentucky. It is being said that high inflation is playing a major part in such closures and more closures may be expected in the country.
The customers of the restaurant were equally shocked by the decision, with several of them taking to social media to share their opinions.
"With no notice. Wow. Had the public known, I'm sure y'all would have had a big uptick in sales. Folks would have loved a chance to get a meal before you closed permanently," wrote a user named Glen Rigo.
Another user, Charlotte Green, said, "Sadly, many more of our brothers and sisters are now unemployed."
A user named Dale Charlow said that the founder of the Myers group was able to handle all the franchises very well, but since his death, no one has been able to do it well.
"No surprise. George Myers died less than one year ago. He was intimately involved in all of his businesses to make certain that they ran efficiently. Between Pizza Hut, KFC, BK, Dunkin Donuts, Anthony Grill, Lucianos and a few others, he operated nearly 30 franchise stores. That's very difficult to run well. I don't think that ANYONE who worked for him could handle it. Seems so," he outlined.Author Profile
