St Vincent and the Grenadines: Minister of Tourism Carlos James, on Tuesday, announced that tourists and locals alike can expect to visit the Pirates of the Caribbean theme park in 2025. According to the Minister, the country will begin constructing the theme park this year in Wallilabou, St Vincent. It is to be noted that Wallilabou Anchorage was the major Caribbean location for the hit movie of Disney's 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. This is the reason that the tourism ministry is seeking to build a theme park in the country as tourists want to experience what the characters in the movie experienced. The first three Pirates of the Caribbean movies were filmed in St Vincent as it was transformed into Port Royal, a bustling town and home of the British Royal Navy. It is also where the viewers were first introduced to Captain Jack.

During the press conference, James said that his Ministry is in talks with the government, and they are looking at finding lands closest to the beach to construct the state-of-the-art theme park. According to him, the park will include a pool, restaurant, beach access for persons coming by sea and more.

It is also expected that once constructed, the theme park will attract a number of tourists from worldwide.

James also highlighted that the theme park has long been wanted by everyone on the island, and seeing the huge surge in visitor arrivals, this decision will have a good impact on the overall tourism sector.

While talking about it, the Tourism Minister said that his team will explore and conceptualise designs for a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed park at Wallilabou. The aim behind this is to further develop the tourism product offering.

He outlined, "We have to make sure that we have all of the suitable services and sites that meet quality standards to confirm that people who come to the destination can really see the true benefit of our product." Carlos James said that the design concept will incorporate the Pirates of the Caribbean movie patterns.
