“Our 29th annual Agri Open Day was a hit,” says Minister Samal Duggins
Minister of Agriculture Samal Duggins expressed his excitement over the huge success of the 29th edition of the Agriculture Open Day.

The two-day event took place on April 25 and 26 and aimed to showcase the different facets of the agricultural sector. It brought together agribusiness, agro processors, farmers and fishers.
While sharing the glimpses of the exciting event, Minister Duggins said that it is that time of the year when farmers, fishers, agro-processors, and small business operators proudly showcase the development, innovation, and vitality of the sector to the nation. “With over 120 stalls offering everything from farm-fresh produce to handcrafted treasures, there was something for everyone to explore,” he further noted.
Minister Samal Duggins said that the event turned out to be more exciting with fun activities such as watermelon eating contests and the petting zoo kept everyone entertained.In addition to this, he lauded the Department of Marine Resources St Kitts and Nevis for treating everyone to the delicious diamond back squid pizza.
Not only this, the Minister also participated equally and met with several local vendors throughout the two day agri open market.
While stating his ministry understands that sustainable transformation requires a holistic approach, the Agriculture Minister said that the financial institutions, technological innovators, and various government departments, including small business, social security, health, and even the cannabis sector, came together to participate.“Their involvement showcased the dynamic nature of the sector. Kudos to the dedicated staff of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries & Marine Resources St Kitts for orchestrating such a successful event. Already eagerly looking forward to the 30th edition,” noted Duggins.
Following the huge success of the event, the Agriculture Ministry expressed its sincere gratitude to the public for their enthusiastic participation in the 29th Annual Agriculture Open Day.
