"Do not travel to St Lucia," US warns its citizens

Embassy of the United States of America in Bridgetown Barbados have declared travel advisories regarding St Lucia due to the rise in coronavirus cases. The travel advisory to St Lucia has been levelled to Level 4. The embassy, in a press release, stated that "Do not travel to St Lucia, due to COVID-19,"The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has declared a Level 4 Travel Health Notice for Saint Lucia due to COVID-19, indicating a very high level of COVID-19 in the country.It added that all travellers must avoid all travel to St Lucia due to the coronavirus situation in the Caribbean island.CDC stated that even fully immunized travellers could be at risk for catching and spreading COVID-19 mutant variants and should avoid all travel to St Lucia.However, CDC stated that in case a person still wants to travel to St Lucia, then they must get fully vaccinated before travel and must always keep a face mask on, maintain a distance of 6 feet from others and also avoid any crowds.Guidelines for fully vaccinated peopleAll travellers should wear a face mask to their nose and mouth when in public, and the practice must also be done when on planes, buses, trains or any types of other public transportation. People are also advised to wash their hands frequently or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.Travel back to the United StatesAll travellers, including citizens, must get tested for a viral test 3-5 days after travel and must also self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms; isolate and get tested if you develop symptoms.
