United Workers Party leader, Lennox Linton first avoided to appear before Court on December 2, 2019, following the violence charges, yet after the alleged bench warrants, he along with his fellow Edison James presented themselves before the Court. Linton along with former UWP leader, Edison James were charged under violence act following the incident in Roseau on February 7 2017.

Earlier, Linton and James did not appear in the Court, after which following the procedure, Court ordered bench warrant against both, Edison James and Lennox Linton after calling the name for as many as three times in the courtroom.

The incident took place on February 7 2017, when riots took place in the capital city of Dominica, Roseau. Shockingly, aggressive people attempted to burn down the city who were reportedly UWP supporters. It was alleged that these supporters were encouraged by Lennox Linton, Edison James and other leaders of UWP to defy the police and engage in civil unrest.

However, Lennox Linton denied all the allegations made by Prime Minister in his early morning press briefing on Tuesday. He declined to any matter that he or Edison James received any arrest warrants in regard to incitement charges.
