The Jamaican Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett has been named the "Man of the Year 2023" in the National Caribbean Weekly Magazine. The list was released earlier on Monday The National Caribbean Weekly Magazine lauded Bartlett for his excellent strategic leadership. He has also been recognised for his dedication and stellar contribution to regional tourism, taking Jamaica's tourism industry to new heights. Another successful aspect for the year 2023 was the Tourism earnings in Jamaica. As per the statistics, the nation has secured over US $4.265 billion. It is an increase of about 17.8% as compared to 2022.

Notably, Minister Edmund Bartlett has been featured with Manchester City and Reaggae Girls Striker Khadija Shaw.  The Ministry of Tourism of Jamaica congratulated the leader for his years of consistent dedication, hard work, and commitment.

"Here's to a well-deserved accolade! This highlights Minister Bartlett's commitment to excellence and is a testament to the incredible work of the Ministry of Tourism and its public bodies at large," the Ministry mentioned. Further, it also congratulated Khadija Shaw, noting, "Kudos also to Reggae Girl and Manchester City striker, Khadija Shaw, who was named Woman of the Year by the publication." Notably, The Tourism Minister of Jamaica Bartlette has made many remarkable achievements in revitalising Jamaica's Tourism Sector in 2023.

As per the reports, the nation welcomed around 4.1 Million visitors in the previous year, an increased ratio of 23.7% compared to the figures for all last year's records.

These figures included 2875,549 stopover guests, and 1246,551 Cruise Passengers. This aspect has highlighted the huge role, Bartletts leadership has played to sustain growth and expand the tourism sector especially after the onset of Covid-19 Pandemic in the year 2020.

Under his effective and strategic leadership and partnerships with the hotel agencies and chains, he has expanded brand awareness, attracted more visitors, and enriched the overall experienced.

He also significantly drove the demand for "Brand Jamaica" and increased airlift, with initiatives spanning South Africa, eastern Europe, Canada and the United Kingdom.

Also, in March 2023, the minister was recognised for his tireless advocacy for the year, as he received "The Lifetime Achievement Award for the promotion of Sustainable Travel and Tourism."
