Solar Energy in Guyana
The nation is currently dependent on imported petroleum-based fuels and other energy sources. This is the main source of energy for the country. However, the Energy sector has been implementing various initiatives and projects to significantly transform and develop its indigenous renewable energy resources and pursue 100% renewable energy in electricity generation. As to the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP), Guyana receives an average of 1,800 kWh/m2 annually. Due to this, most of the landmarks across Guyana have excellent solar insolation levels and are ideal for solar PV generation.Latest
