Flooding in some parts of St Kitts, PM Timothy Harris assures full support
St Kitts and Nevis experienced heavy flooding in some areas after continued rainfall for several days. The Phillps' mountain sustained major damage.
Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr Timothy Harris visited the flooding location and assessed the damages. He also interacted with locals and assured full government support.
PM Harris stated that he is satisfied with the strong community response in Phillips Village. He also talked about climate change and emphasized that it is real, adding that the government will construct resilient communities. Prime Minister Harris, who is also the Parliamentary Representative for the area, was accompanied by the Director of Public Works, George Gilbert.Huge pieces of debris and derelict vehicles blocked the culvert in the area, causing the gushing waters to overflow in nearby yards and homes.
