Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell has revealed that he will not be exiting public life before the 2023 general polls despite earlier declaring that he would not be doing so.

Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell has revealed that he will not be exiting public life before the 2023 general polls despite earlier declaring that he would not be doing so.
During the operations for the 2018 general election, Mitchell, who is at the wheel of the ruling New National Party (NNP), then showed that he would not contest another common election; however, in an interview on Thursday – about two years before the vote is constitutionally due, the Prime Minister said that he has to had to change his beliefs about handing over leadership.
“A decision was made, I would have chosen not to have, but there are rationales based on my own partners’ views and common perceptions that the right time will have to be after the next option to hand over the reins to someone. So, it looks likely, very likely that I will certainly run unless I have some form issues or a real problem,” said Mitchell, who has served in the Parliament for almost four decades.

The NNP, which is currently in the method of classifying caretakers, was returned to office in the last election, with citizens giving majority support to the NNP candidates. All 15 client seats were won by the NNP candidates.
As a result, there wasn't an official enemy in the Lower House of Parliament until Tobias Clement, who embodies the constituency of St George’s North East, crossed the floor and also became the Leader of the Opposition.
