Grand event to mark launching of DLP’s candidate Melissa Skerrit

The general elections in the Commonwealth of Dominica will be held on 6th of December next month. Dominica Labour Party which coming up as front runner in upcoming elections is all set to launch its final candidate Melissa Poponne-Skerrit.

DLP’s candidate from Roseau Central and wife of Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit is one of the new slate of candidate launched for upcoming elections. The event will kick off at 6 pm today evening on River Bank, Roseau.

In previous general elections, the opposition party managed to win the Roseau Central constituency with a very marginal difference of 65 votes. This is also to be mentioned that the winning candidate of UWP in Roseau Central joined DLP after his dissident against opposition’s policies.

According to facts, there are in total 3850 electors in the constituency who will elect the Parl Rep for the constituency. The DLP has also named the event as ‘Campaign Lifter’ to outweigh the opposition’s small gathering events, this event is predicted to be the largest event so far in the election campaigns in Dominica.

Apart from this, Jamaica’s Reggae superstar Tarrus Riley, Midnight Groovers, Daddy Chess and several other bands will entertain the people gathered in the support of Dominica Labour Party for upcoming general elections.
