Female burnt partially in Tobago, marks 6th murder for 2024

According to the reports, the victim has been identified as 58-year-old Deborah Gopaul, a resident of John Gorman Trace, Crown Point, Tobago. The reports added that around 9 pm on Tuesday, a body was found bound, gagged and stuffed in the trunk of an abandoned car.
The police observed the black Mazda 323 on fire while on mobile patrol. In addition to this, the police officials said that when they reached the vehicle, it was already on fire, but they managed to extinguish the flames as soon as possible.The female's partially burnt body was then seen slumped on the right front seat of the vehicle.
The officials rushed the body to the mortuary at the Scarborough General Hospital, where it is awaiting an autopsy. The officials have launched an investigation into the incident to find the exact reason for the alleged murder.Following the incident, traffic was diverted along the Claude Noel Highway near Lowlands as the area was sealed for investigation. Police also said that the vehicle was parked on the Southern side of the Highway while it was facing East.
The reports add that she was an employee of Jade Distributers in Canaan. This is said to be the sixth murder recorded in Tobago for the year thus far.Meanwhile, the citizens and residents of Tobago have expressed their deep condolences to the victim and are urging the authorities to take swift action.
"Rest peacefully, beautiful lady. Condolences to the family and friends. I hope they find out who did this to her and do the same to them. It is called karma. This is so sad," wrote a user named Avian Lezama.Another user named Mohamed said, "Unbelievable, the level of heinous crimes that have become so every day in Tnt, we have become a lawless country."
