"The Federation has found a new niche in tourism in Film Industry," says PM Harris

Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Timothy Harris said that the Federation has found a new niche in tourism in the film industry.

St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Timothy Harris said that the Federation has found a new niche in tourism in the film industry.

During his monthly press conference on March 23 in the NEMA Conference Room (NEMA) in Lime Kiln, Prime Minister said that this new niche in Tourism is a new and exciting opportunity that has come to our side because of our record with the management of COVID-19.

PM Harris added, "At the moment, two (2) films are being staged in St Petersburg. Kitts and Nevis filmed, 'Below Deck' in Park Hyatt St. Kitts and 'One Year Off' on Nevis."

"The principal of MSR Productions has promised to produce 7 films this year. We are hopeful that the success of these 7 films - Below Deck and 6 others will have a profound effect on the future development of the film and creative industries,” said Prime Minister Harris. "It will bring a lot of visibility and interest in St. Kitts and Nevis as the best place to visit, do business and live."

He also acknowledged that people in the hotel sector said: "We appreciate the confidence in our economy."

The Prime Minister has set out a diverse hotel property in an advanced stage of completion. These properties include the Trinity Sunset Shores, Seaview Hotel and Hillsborough Suites Hotel, which are expected to be completed during the course of the year 2021.
