Dr Douglas visits Shymir who turned one year on Monday

Shymir Finch-Elliott was just six weeks old when he lost his mother, 21-year-old Jimmyliah Finch, a soldier in the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force on March 1, 2018.
Moved by his fatherly instincts and his personal loss of his own mother when he was one-year-old, former St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas at the burial service of his mother and her sister, was surprised to learn that baby Shymir shared the same birthday – January 14, as him and promised to "do whatever I can do."
As part of his birthday celebrations on Monday, Dr Douglas visited Shymir, who turned one year old and his dad, Aaron.
"Shymir is doing well with regard to his growth and developmental milestones and attends the St. Peters Day Care Center," said Dr Douglas on Tuesday.
Dr. Douglas used the occasion during the visit and hold Shymir, presented birthday presents and speak with his dad.
Jimmyliah and her 19-year-old sister, Naomi, were murdered not far from their home in Keys on March 1, 2018.
