DOMLEC shares update on Dominica power situation
Body receiving help from Caribbean region

DOMLEC – Dominica Electricity Services – has given an update on Dominica’s power situation following the carnage of Hurricane Maria.
Among the new information was the news that additional assistance is being given by other states in the Caribbean.
In the capital Roseau, Canefield Industrial Estate has now been added back to the grid. Further work in that area should be completed today.
Sections of Pottersville should also be completed today. Potters Street, Stebar Street, Elliott Avenue have already been re-energyzed.
Portsmouth work is ongoing, especially in the Picard area.
A Cuban team is working on a link from Padu power station to Fond Cole.
DOMLEC is also being helped by linesmen from St Vincent, St Lucia, The Bahamas and Barbados.
Pay as you go customers in Roseau and Portsmouth who have been reconnected can purchase power either online on at the DOMLEC office.
