Dominica: PM Roosevelt Skerrit congratulates Grenada's PM elect Dickon Mitchell

The leaders of the entire Caribbean region extended warm wishes to Mitchell for attaining victory in the general elections.

Dominica: PM Roosevelt Skerrit congratulates Grenada's PM elect Dickon Mitchell.
Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, has congratulated its newly elected Grenadian counterpart, Dickon Mitchell. Becoming Prime Minister of Grenada at the age of 44, Mitchell left behind the leader of the New National Party, Keith Mitchell, by capturing nine parliamentary seats out of 15. Extending his wishes, Prime Minister Dr Skerrit wrote on his Facebook account, "Congratulations to the Prime Minister-elect of Grenada Dickon Mitchell and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on emerging victorious in the June 23 general elections. I wish Mr Mitchell every success as he forms a new government to lead the Grenadian people, and I look forward to working with him to advance the common development goals of our region".

Both Caribbean countries look forward to bolstering diplomatic ties with each other.

The leaders of the entire Caribbean region extended warm wishes to Mitchell for attaining victory in the general elections.

Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne, wished PM Mitchell on behalf of his administration and the whole country.

He stated, "Dear Colleague, On behalf of the Government of Antigua and Barbuda, and on my own behalf, I congratulate you warmly on your election as Prime Minister of Grenada. I look forward to working closely with you."

"I look forward to working closely with you, Prime Minister-elect, in the interests of our countries and in the wider interests of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). I avail myself of this opportunity to renew the assurances of my highest esteem", he then noted while lauding the prime minister.

Mia Amor Mottley - the Prime Minister of Barbados, penned down while extending her wishes and wrote, "On behalf of the Government and people of Barbados, I wish to extend congratulations to Prime Minister-Elect of Grenada, Dickon Mitchell, on his victory. I look forward to working with you as we seek to transform our Caribbean region."

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of St Lucia- Philip J Pierre, wishing PM Mitchell, stated that the newly elected leader contains the power to shape his country.

"On behalf of the Government and the people of Saint Lucia, I wish to extend congratulations to PM-Elect Dickon Mitchell and the NDC on their electoral victory. You have an opportunity to shape your country's future in conformity with the collective aspirations of the people", notes the St Lucian Prime Minister.
