Dominica: Marigot health centre to be opened on March 10

Roseau, Dominica: During Anou Pale on Sunday, the health minister of Dominica, Dr. Irvin McIntyre, stated that the Marigot health centre would be officially commissioned on March 10.  Speaking to Dominican PM Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit, Dr. McIntyre stated that several health-centers are planned to be officially commissioned in the upcoming days.  Minister for Health and Wellness Dr. Irvin McIntyre stated that the ministry is moving ahead by commissioning Georgetown's health center in Portsmouth on 1 March 2021.  Conversing about other upcoming health centres, he stated that on Wednesday, Bellevue Chopin health centre would be opened, similarly on Friday Vieille Case, following Monday (8 March) Wesely health centre, on 10 March Marigot.  Besides this, PM Skerrit stated that the Esprit-Murphy Health & Wellness Centre is now officially commissioned to fulfill the medical requirements of Mahaut. PM Skerrit added that the health facility is designed to provide modern health-care facilities and services to the citizens of Dominica.  He stated that the Mahaut health centre is one of the twelve-health care facilities that are being built to uplift the medical structure. He noted that eight of the facilities are already completed.  The Dominican Prime Minister also stated that the country would move ahead with the official commissioning of these facilities in the coming weeks.  Prime Minister of Dominica Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit stated that the Oxford-AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine is safe and has no lethal effects.  During Anou Pale on Sunday, PM also acknowledged all health professionals working to make the vaccine widely available across the world.  "Dominica continues to excel in the provisions to take care of those affected by COVID-19 to manage the quarantine process and monitor entry to the island." added the Dominican Prime Minister.  PM Skerrit added that he is immensely proud of the work of the health workers in Dominica.  Dominica have moved ahead in vaccinating the general public and more than 5924 people were vaccinated in just fifteen days of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine from India.
