Trinidad and Tobago: A decomposed body of a man was found lying on the banks of La Florissante River, Arima, earlier in the morning.

Trinidad and Tobago: A decomposed body of a man was found lying on the banks of La Florissante River, Arima, on Tuesday.
Police have launched an investigation to find the identity of the victim, as no ID card was recovered from the scene; as per reports, the body was found with its hands tied. The victim was wearing in three-quarter pants, a grey jersey and navy blue boxers.
Officials said the body was first spotted by the nearby residents of the Arima Constituency, who immediately called the Police and authorities to look into the matter.
Meanwhile, the police reported that a cloth was tied around the hands and neck of the victim's body when found. The incident has recorded another number in the Trinidad and Tobago's list of crimes.
Notably, within 18 days of 2024, the country has recorded frequent cases of crimes every day. As per the People, the government is not taking any strict actions and amendments in their system to reduce these kinds of major incidents in the country.
Government's Action on Crime
Moreover, In order to deal with such issues, the government has taken every possible step to reduce the crime rate in the country. The government has launched various Anti-Crime Pointers to investigate crime incidents effectively. These Anti-Crime Pointers include,- DNA and Ten-Printing Data Bank for scientific crime investigation.
- CCTV systems with facial recognition technology by both State and private entities, with tax incentives to the private entities who will also provide coverage of immediate pavement and roadway.
- Nine hundred custom-made vehicles to bring TTPS to full strength of 2250, with an annual purchase of 440.
- An effective team of coast guards, Police and authorities at all levels to address the crime cases.

Social media users have presented various reactions and opinions on the incident. Some people also took the government responsible for letting these crimes and culprits come into a hype behind the unbalanced curtains of administration. "This whole government need to step aside," a user mentioned "Oh, my goodness. Who in the authorities do we turn to for help? Even our Judicial system has seriously lacked Judicial standards and judicial review overhauls. Nothing to alleviate or remedies to justify reasons for cases being abruptly dismissed.
