Caribbean airlines restarts direct flights from Miami to Guyana

After a setback of several months, the Caribbean airlines announced the resumption of commercial flights to Guyana from Miami.

Georgetown, Guyana: After a setback of several months, the Caribbean airlines announced the resumption of commercial flights to Guyana from Miami. The new flight schedule will start from Wednesday, June 16 2021.  Caribbean airlines stated the flight will be a non-stop service starting from Miami to Guyana and would enhance the summer operations between the two countries.  Caribbean Airlines CEO Garvin Medera stated: stated that Miami has always been a favourite destination for their Guyanese and other Caribbean customers. He also assured the passengers of utmost safety and stated that all health protocols are followed during the flights to make the flying experience more comfortable. Medera stated that as a special benefit to kick-start the re-launch, the Caribbean airlines customers who make bookings from now onwards until July 14 can enjoy dual-miles. The direct flight between Guyana and Miami will operate once a week; flying from The flight will operate once-weekly, flying from Guyana at 10: 15 hrs and arriving in Miami at 15:00 hrs. Caribbean Airlines CEO also stated that wearing a face mask during the check-in and flight is mandatory for the entire flight duration. Passengers can check the entry conditions and other significant travel information for their planned destination using the Caribbean Airlines Sherpa Tool.  The company had earlier declared a loss of US$103 million due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In September 2020, the company had announced to lay off some 600 employees in Trinidad and Jamaica for three months.
