St Kitts and Nevis: As part of the phased response to the evolving COVID-19 situation, St Kitts and Nevis, according to the advice and recommendations of local medical experts, eased some of the COVID-19 protocols for fully vaccinated individuals.
The government describes individuals who have been fully vaccinated as individuals who have taken two doses of a 2-dose regimen vaccine. “Our medical experts have recommended that we reduce the quarantine period for fully vaccinated air travellers to St Kitts and Nevis from 14 to 9 days from 01 May 2021. Fully vaccinated cultural/entertainment events can be favorably considered, allowing only fully vaccinated customers. Recommended start date week of 19 July 2021,” said Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris during Leadership Matters.PrimeMinister Harris continued: "Fully vaccinated cultural/entertainment events can be favorably considered, allowing only fully vaccinated patrons access. Recommended start date week of 19 July 2021.”
The Minister of Crime further noted that mixed cultural / entertainment events, i.e. events consisting of vaccinated and non-vaccinated patrons, must remain in order to comply with the existing protocols. Weddings, funerals and church services are classified as mixed events and must therefore adhere to existing protocols.Prime Minister Harris also unveiled Tuesday night's program that the first cruise ship is expected to sail to St Kitts and Nevis during July 2021.
''A quick way to vaccination can bring many economic and broader societal benefits to us here in St Kitts and Nevis. Just as our low risk for COVID-19 has brought our Federation 2 films so far, and five more to film, we can fully inoculate other economic benefits. As the first one to be fully vaccinated, it could put us at the top of the list for cruise and other tourism segments,” said PM Harris added. At the end of the day on Tuesday, April 27, a total of 12,298 people administered their first dose of Oxford AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, 9,326 doses administered on St. Kitts and 2,972 doses administered to Nevis.
