Barbados confirms 195 new cases of COVID-19, 2 deaths

Barbados: Following the incline trend, Barbados reported additional 195 new cases of COVID-19 and two new deaths related to the viral disease. Out of 195 new patients, 94 are males and 101 are females following the 1,835 tests conducted by Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Health and Wellness, 151 persons are above the age of 18 and 44 are under the age of 18. Following the tests conducted, all persons were set for isolation and there are a total of 996 persons under isolation in Barbados. Apart from this, Barbados island reported two additional deaths on Sunday, which includes a 64-year-old St Lucian man who succumbed to the viral illness after spending seven days in primary isolation at the Harrison Point Facility. The person had no previous medical history and was unvaccinated against the virus. The second person who died to COVID-19 was a 70-year-old woman who also died at Harrison Point, where she survived for about 9 days following the illness. She was also unvaccinated and was having underlying health conditions.Barbados has confirmed a total of 9,205 total cases of COVID-19 since March 2020, which includes 4,498 males and 4,707 females and total deaths due to COVID-19 are 81. Whereas, the laboratory has conducted over 326,487 tests so far.
Following the vaccination drive in the country, Public Health officials have vaccinated 138,666 persons with the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 107,470 persons are fully vaccinated under the National Vaccination Programme. Barbados 39.7 percent population is now fully vaccinated.Latest
